Joe Dever is a British writer and game designer. In 1984, he wrote Flight from the Dark, the first Lone Wolf gamebook. Both the debut volume and the subsequent one sold 100,000 copies each in the first week of release, and the rights were sold in twelve countries worldwide. The success of the first book laid the foundation for the future of the entire Lone Wolf series, which has sold over 8 million copies worldwide.
